Sustainability Strategies

As Ceylan Mineral, we place sustainability at the center of our activities in order to minimize our impact on the environment and ensure long-term viability in all stages of our mining and processing activities. We adopt ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) as an effective corporate governance model to make a positive impact on nature and our social environment.

ENVIRONMENT

We are aware of the environmental problems such as global warming, climate change and declining biodiversity, and we are working toward fulfilling our responsibilities in producing sustainable solutions with a proper understanding of the root causes of these problems. ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, for which we are certified, is among the corporate policies that we pursue to ensure environmental compliance, be sustainable and perform better in environmental issues.

We carry out our mining activities with a sensitive approach to waste management, water management, sustainable energy use and efficient use of resources while protecting our environment for the well-being of future generations.

  • Afforesting the lands around the factory and mine site and rehabilitating the mine for use as agricultural land after mining has ceased
  • Treatment and reuse of water used in production
  • Use of sustainable energy sources in production
  • Using of recyclable packaging for our products toward our goal of zero waste
  • Use of recyclable office supplies and limiting the use of in-house paper in order to minimize waste in our office and factory
  • Carrying out tree planting and packaging recycling activities with the engagement of consumers and customers in our environmental efforts
  • Carrying out social responsibility and re-homing projects for cats in shelters and stray cats
  • Providing a comfortable living space on our factory premises for cats using our products

Regarding the social dimension of sustainability, we adopt an approach that respects human rights, prioritizes occupational health and safety, and contributes to the local economy of all regions where we operate.
